EMPRC INformation
The EMPRC is to be built northeast of the intersection of Sonoma Ranch Boulevard and Camino Coyote, east of the East Mesa Public Safety Complex, 550 N. Sonoma Ranch Boulevard.
The EMPRC project’s goals and scope are as follows:
- Includes all roadways, parking, infrastructure.
- Includes active and passive recreation:
- Active: Soccer, Baseball, Football, Pickleball
- Passive: Trails, Traditional Park, Playgrounds
- Will be sustainably designed, built and maintained.
- Will meet the operational needs of the City’s Parks and Recreation Department.
- Will follow Bureau of Land Management plan requirements.
Past Community Input Meetings
April 27 - May 11, 2020 - Virtual design options presentation was posted on CLCTV 20, Facebook and on the City of Las Cruces website. Community members were asked to submit their ideas and input by direct email or comments on social media.
January 30, 2020 - Consultants presented conceptual designs and held a charrette-style workshop where public added their input and ideas for the EMPRC.
December 4 and 5, 2019 - Consultants collected preliminary ideas, needs, wants and concerns from the community and stakeholder groups. Maps showing the location of the the new sports complex were presented.
