The Las Cruces Museum System will be hosting “The Great Paper Airplane Competition” on January 29 from 10am to 1pm. The event is open to the public and does not require prior registration. The competition is open to children ages 6-13 and all supplies will be provided by the Museums.
Entrants will be provided an 8.5”X11” piece of paper and basic instruction in paper airplane design. Entries will be judged by a panel of museum judges for greatest distances flown and creativity in design. At the end of the event, the three planes that flew the farthest in two age groups (ages 6-10, ages 11-13), will be awarded a trophy. Trophies will also be awarded to the top three most creative designs in each age group, as judged by a panel of museum judges. Each awardee will also be featured on the Museum’s Facebook page @LCMuseums.
