Steve Velasquez, Curator at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, will use Smithsonian Institution collections to highlight different ways that Latina activists inspire people to build a better future. This online presentation is a teaser event for our newest exhibit “Salt of the Earth” opening July 16, 2021! “Salt of the Earth” highlights the work of women activists fighting for miner’s rights in Silver City in the 1950’s.
